Reagan Dinner Follow Up

How refreshing it was to be with 165 Conservatives to kick off the sprint to April.  Hearing from Senator John Eichelberger and Matt Kibbe from FreedomWorks reminds us that we have allies to bring home victories locally.

We cannot allow RINO’s get the best of us.  The passion of the Tea Party movement and Conservative cause will outdo the dirty money from unions and lobbyists.

Again thank you to all who came, for those who missed it, we’ll get you next year!

Right to Work…Karl Marx or Adam Smith

The struggle against progressives and their henchman continues in Pennsylvania with current legislation that will finally put a Right to Work law on the books. Union thugs have continually used strong arm tactics in other states (See Ohio and Wisconsin) and are trying to reverse election results of 2010. We need leaders in Pennsylvania like Scott Walker and John Kasich who have taken the fight against these gangsters.

Unions will paint Right to Work as a way to create freeloaders who benefit from their “hard work” to obtain increased benefits. But the issue goes beyond just getting more money because of collective bargaining or negotiations on someone’s behalf that has not paid dues, but tying someone’s job to membership of an organization that they don’t want to belong to.

Moreover, unions represent what is wrong with America, as way to preach class warfare that smacks more of Karl Marx than Adam Smith. It’s a way to turn the proletariat and the bourgeoisie against one another…sound familiar – see the Communist Manifesto.

Workers who for generations have supported unionism are waking up and leaving for real free market jobs. And labor cries the blues because they know that Right to Work is another nail in the coffin. They portray themselves as freedom loving peaceful leaders…oh let’s see one of their peaceful members now Union Thug at FreedomWorks

But what is it costing states when companies decide it’s more beneficial to move to a RTW state? Take when Boeing left Washington state for South Carolina. The National Labor Relations Board sued the company and although in the end did not proceed with litigation, forced the company to ratify a contract that increased benefits and jobs in Puget Sound area against what the company can probably afford. Sound like free market?

School Vouchers…It’s the Kids Stupid!

To rely or not to rely, that is the question. When we engage in political debate, I think we get too caught up in the policy details. It boils down to one question, do we want government in our lives. Everything in government is screwed up. No matter what level of government we look at, it’s never managed right and most of the time is filled with inefficiencies and corruption. But there isn’t any choice when it comes to most services that the government provides. Take education, we don’t have a choice in how our kids are educated. We can yell until we are blue in the faces but no changes will take place in the districts. Now put in vouchers where parents are given the freedom to shop around for a good school, then through competition districts are forced to improve or lose money.
But this concept is running into roadblocks in Pennsylvania. Many say it is just another Harrisburg-Philadelphia law that won’t benefit “my district”. Or then we have those who are so mad and mistrusting of the government that any legislation that is introduced to change, those people are automatically against it because it is a government solution.
The idea that a voucher program where a family of four making $84k and could be opened to other parts of the state will eventually benefit us. In addition, just the savings where urban schools will be introduced to free market ideas is an immediate benefit. Especially in the havens where the teachers unions have a lock on school budgets and are draining the pot and taking away from where the focus should be – the kids.
For those who don’t trust the government, I’m with you. But the progressives have slowly over the past 60-70 years grinded their agenda into culture and government, which it’s going to take Conservative leaders and policy to reverse the effects. Rome wasn’t built in a day and the statist policies won’t be eliminated without good sound common sense policy.

So support school vouchers…and let’s gets the focus back on the kids!

Round three for the Tea Party

Oh, ‘tis the season as we ramp up for another year of political wrangling — anymore, there isn’t an off year for political junkies, but presidential years are usually the World Series. Nevertheless, I can’t get into the mood! I can honestly say that I haven’t watched any of the GOP debates, and believe you me, that is saying something, but why? Is it that I’m losing interest in politics? Is it that I believe that the president is committed to policies that are bettering our country?

I’ll give an emphatic “No” to both these questions. It’s really is too bad that Obama is doing so badly. The Republicans are not forced to do any work. Now, now…I know my Conservative brethren are yelling at me now, to not to take the left for granted. I realize that the Unions and ACORN will be doing their best with the help of George Soros’ money, which is precisely the reason that the candidates need to get out of the canned responses and say something.

It’s round three for the Tea Party. They did great in 2010 in getting the message out and holding the line on a Conservative message. In the off year, if you can call it that, the Tea Party continued to move on local elections. Now, as it seems they gorge on the red meat of national issues, it’s time to mobilize and combat the Flea Party movement that now occupies our cities. It’s an inorganic movement that’s been fabricated and if you read between the lines, it’s got the statists’, who want control, fingerprints all over it.

So this is my first post, and I hope to bring a fresh approach to politics in the coming year. Every cycle we hear that it’s going to be historic. This is why our nation is great. But it’s these types of years for political operatives like me…ok call me nerd, but let the games begin!
